According to BBC News, Joshua Kerry, 28, has been charged with the murder of Ann Widdecombe.

The Crown Prosecution Service said Kerry, from Rotherham in South Yorkshire, is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

Widdecombe, 78, was found dead at her home in Haytor, Devon, on Thursday 9 July after sustaining serious injuries. She was a former Conservative minister and Reform UK spokeswoman.

Police enquiries into Kerry’s motives are continuing, including whether there may have been a political or terrorist connection, the CPS said.
