According to ABC News, a jury in the Perth District Court was shown photographs of injuries allegedly suffered by a 20-year-old woman in the sexual assault trial of Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, known as Yung Filly.

Mr Barrientos, 30, is accused of raping and assaulting the woman at the Intercontinental Hotel in Perth’s CBD in September 2024, after performing at Bar1 in Perth’s northern suburbs. The court heard the pair had consensual sex before he allegedly raped and assaulted her. He denies all charges, including sexual penetration without consent, impeding a person’s breathing and assault.

Sexual assault specialist Geraldine Hoy told the court she examined the woman at the Sexual Assault Resource Centre two days after the alleged incident. She took 21 close-up photographs of the woman’s face, neck and breasts, depicting bruising and swelling.

Dr Hoy described a “green purply” bruise and a linear bruise on the woman’s neck, along with bruising on her breast. She also described linear red swollen bruises on the woman’s right cheek and bruising extending from the left side of her face to her neck.

She said some bruising and swelling on the left side of the woman’s neck could have been caused by obstructing the jugular vein, a form of strangulation. Earlier evidence heard the woman had a “celebrity crush” on Mr Barrientos and had sought access to the VIP area at his performance before leaving with him and his entourage for the hotel. The trial continues.
