According to ABC News, British YouTuber and musician Yung Filly has testified in his defence against allegations that he repeatedly raped and violently assaulted a young fan after a concert at a Perth nightclub. Yung Filly, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, is on trial over allegations relating to September 2024. The 30-year-old denies all 10 charges.

Mr Barrientos told the Perth court he “fancied” the complainant after she approached him at Bar1 in Hillarys. He said she later entered the VIP area and they began talking. He initially denied physical contact there, before saying he recalled putting his hand on her waist. He denied putting his hands down her pants or touching her breast, telling the court: “That did not happen.”

He said the “vibes were good” after they arrived at his Perth CBD hotel, where his security guard took the woman’s phone in what he described as standard practice to ensure privacy. Mr Barrientos said he gave her “love bites” during sex. The court had earlier been shown photographs of bruising on the woman’s face, neck and breasts, with forensic dentist John Marsell saying some injuries were likely caused by biting.

The woman, who had just turned 20 at the time, previously testified that sex was consensual before the encounter became violent and she told him to stop. Mr Barrientos said she did not speak during the encounter and that he believed she was enjoying it. He said they spoke afterwards before he called an Uber and she left.

Under cross-examination by state prosecutor Danielle Clarke, Mr Barrientos said he had singled the woman out because he found her attractive and asked whether she wanted to return to his hotel room. He agreed this meant he wanted to have sex with her, though he did not say that at the time. He was expected to continue testifying for much of the day.
