According to BBC News, Leeds Rhinos came from behind to beat Wakefield Trinity 24-22 in a dramatic Super League top-of-the-table match at a sell-out DIY Kitchens Stadium. The result moved Leeds four points clear at the top with five regular-season games remaining.

Wakefield built a 16-0 first-half lead through tries from Isaiah Vagana, Caleb Hamlin-Uele and Jayden Myers, with Jack Sinfield converting all three. Leeds had trailed for all but three minutes of the contest, but Brodie Croft’s 25th Super League try of the campaign gave the visitors a foothold before half-time.

Sinfield extended Wakefield’s advantage after the break when he wrestled the ball over the line and added the conversion. Leeds then surged back, with James McDonnell scoring to make it 22-10 before Cam Smith powered through three minutes later to cut the gap to four points. Jake Connor added the conversions as the Rhinos increased the pressure.

With 77 minutes on the clock, Connor’s grubber kick was collected by Chris Hankinson to level the scores at 22-22. Connor then converted from five yards inside the touchline to complete the turnaround. Wakefield head coach Daryl Powell said his side made too many errors after their second-half score, while Leeds coach Brad Arthur praised his team’s character in an “incredibly tough, gritty” contest.
