According to ABC News, South Sydney Rabbitohs survived a second-half Parramatta Eels surge to win 28-24 on a day marked by three major NRL fightbacks. The Dolphins overturned a 24-0 deficit to beat Brisbane Broncos 40-32, while Melbourne Storm recovered from 14-0 down to defeat Manly Warringah Sea Eagles 42-20 in Perth.

South Sydney led Parramatta 28-0 at half-time after six tries, including a hat-trick from Alex Johnston, while Tevita Tatola, Brandon Smith and Jye Gray also scored. The Rabbitohs lost halfback Ashton Ward to a hamstring injury shortly before the break, and Eels player Isaiah Iongi was carried off with a knee injury.

The Storm snapped a three-game losing streak, while the Sea Eagles need to win their final four games for a legitimate chance at the top eight.
