According to ABC News, a 32-year-old solicitor from Moree in north-west NSW has been charged with 16 offences, including manufacturing prohibited firearms.

The man was arrested yesterday during a police firearm prohibition order compliance check at a Sunnyside Road home. Police allege they seized multiple guns and ammunition during the search.

Police allegedly seized a bolt-action rifle, two pistols, a semi-automatic privately manufactured firearm, hundreds of rounds of ammunition and ammunition manufacturing equipment.

The State Crime Command’s Drug and Firearm squad established Strike Force Temarang to investigate the importation and manufacture of 3D-printed and prohibited firearms. Inquiries into the manufacture of 3D-printed firearms began in Moree in April this year.

After the arrest, police searched a second property at Frome Street, where they allegedly seized a 3D printer, firearm blueprints and electronic devices. The man is due to face court today.
