Arabic version: عائدون نيجيريون يسعون إلى التعافي بعد صدمة جنوب أفريقيا
According to France 24, Nigerian returnees are trying to forget trauma experienced during months of xenophobic protests in South Africa. The protests have also frayed diplomatic ties between Nigeria and South Africa, described as two African powerhouses.
The report featured the returnees’ efforts to re-adapt after their experiences in South Africa. France 24 presented the story in its Eye on Africa programme, issued on August 11, 2026.
The programme also reported that Chad says cooperation with General Khalifa Haftar’s Libyan National Army has made their shared border safer. In Liberia, a new drug enforcement tsar has been appointed as the country increases its crackdown on drugs, weeks after two record-breaking cocaine busts.
