According to Cnbc, Anthropic reported preliminary revenue of more than $11.5 billion in its latest completed quarter, a figure Bloomberg News said was drawn from documents it reviewed. The Claude chatbot maker’s revenue was up from $787 million in the same period a year earlier.

The reported result represented an increase of more than 14-fold year over year. It also exceeded the $4.73 billion Anthropic reported for the first quarter of 2026, according to the documents viewed by Bloomberg News. The figures remain preliminary and could change, Bloomberg reported.

Anthropic also recorded positive adjusted operating income in the second quarter, the documents showed. An Anthropic spokesperson did not immediately respond to a CNBC request for comment.

The revenue increase highlights the rapid expansion of Anthropic as it competes with OpenAI for corporate customers and gains use among professionals employing its software for tasks including coding. In May, Anthropic said its run-rate revenue had crossed $47 billion, compared with roughly $10 billion in revenue for all of 2025.

The company is also preparing for a potential initial public offering. CNBC reported that early meetings with prospective investors have been high-level and have not included discussions of specific financial results or a valuation. CFO Krishna Rao is leading those meetings, according to sources cited by CNBC.

An IPO as soon as this fall could make Anthropic one of the first major private AI companies to enter public markets. A public debut would provide access to additional capital as the company faces growing costs for compute infrastructure, advanced hardware and specialized data centers.
