Arabic version: امرأة ثالثة تطلب محامياً على خلفية واقعة سيدني سوانز
According to ABC News, a third woman involved in the Sydney Swans sexual assault scandal has engaged legal representation, with a potential civil lawsuit being considered.
Slater and Gordon senior lawyer Jackson Pannam said he represents a woman who contacted police immediately after an alleged assault at the Pullman Hotel in East Melbourne in the early hours of Monday, August 17. He said she was continuing to speak with police as part of their investigation.
“Our client has had her entire world turned upside down and is now trying to navigate an incredibly traumatic experience,” Mr Pannam said. He described her as “extremely distressed” and requested privacy for her and the other women involved.
Carbone Lawyers announced on Friday that it represented two other women, believed to be adult entertainers, involved in the incident and was also examining a civil claim. Several adult entertainers are understood to have joined players at the hotel after being hired following the Swans’ win over Essendon last Sunday night.
The Swans have stood down Isaac Heeney, Nick Blakey, Chad Warner, Riley Bice and James Jordon for breaching club standards on drinking and staying out late. Police are still investigating and have made no arrests or laid charges.
