Dear friends,

There’s a lot of love in our City!

And I’m delighted to invite you to the return of Love Earlwood – Meet You at the Plateia Festival on Saturday 19 September.

Following the tremendous success of its inaugural year, the event is back bigger and better, celebrating the rich Mediterranean heritage that has helped shape Earlwood into the vibrant and welcoming community it is today.

From 11am to 5pm, Clarke Street will come alive with the sights, sounds and flavours of the Mediterranean.

Residents and visitors alike can enjoy authentic food, wine tasting, live music, cultural performances, family-friendly activities, a spectacular car show and a bustling marketplace filled with local businesses, community groups and artisan stalls.

Last year, more than 10,000 people joined us to celebrate all that makes Earlwood special. This year, the festival footprint has expanded along Clarke Street to Lewins Street and will incorporate the Coles underground carpark, creating even more space for visitors to explore and enjoy.

Events like this bring people together, celebrate our diverse cultures, support local businesses and strengthen the sense of community that makes Canterbury-Bankstown such a wonderful place to live.

Whether you’re coming for the traditional Greek and Italian cuisine, the live entertainment hosted by the hilarious James Liotta, the activities for children, or simply to soak up the atmosphere, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

I encourage everyone to bring their family and friends and join us for a fantastic day celebrating Earlwood’s Mediterranean spirit.

I look forward to seeing you there!

Regards,

Mayor Bilal El-Hayek
