Representatives of Free Patriotic Movement branches across Australia’s states gathered to elect a new federal committee. Charbel Deeb from New South Wales was elected Federal Coordinator, Labib Al-Shamali from Queensland was elected Deputy Coordinator, and Edouard Heikal from Victoria was elected Secretary.

Outgoing Federal Coordinator Maroun Khoury congratulated the new committee and thanked branch members and supporters for their backing over the past years. He stressed the importance of continuing to work in a spirit of cooperation and goodwill.

The new Federal Coordinator, Charbel Deeb, thanked the previous committee, particularly Maroun Khoury, for its efforts and dedication. He also thanked everyone who had stood by and supported him, expressing his hopes for a new phase of joint work. He called for greater effectiveness and achievement in the period ahead, working hand in hand for the benefit of the movement and its members in Australia.
