Arabic version: غارة إسرائيلية في مدينة غزة تقتل فلسطينيين اثنين
According to Al Jazeera, an Israeli air strike on a vehicle in Gaza City killed at least two people and wounded 13 others on Sunday.
The attack struck the Tal al-Hawa neighbourhood. Health officials said the bodies of those killed had been dismembered and appealed for public information that could help identify them.
Video verified by Al Jazeera showed the targeted vehicle mangled and gutted, with its roof and doors torn away. The Israeli military said it had targeted two Hamas fighters.
The strike was the latest in near-daily Israeli attacks on the war-ravaged and besieged Palestinian territory since Israel and Hamas agreed to a “ceasefire” last October. Health authorities say more than 1,300 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks across Gaza since the United States-brokered “truce” began.
Hamas has accused Israel of violating the agreement and obstructing US President Donald Trump’s plan to end the war, which includes an eventual Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and the disarmament of Hamas. Local authorities say Israel’s war has killed at least 73,669 people, mostly women and children, since October 2023.
