According to BBC News, England’s Ross Smith beat Gerwyn Price 11-5 to win the World Series of Darts Finals in Amsterdam. Smith closed the final by winning the last six legs against the Welshman, a two-time former winner of the event.

The victory was a second major title for the 37-year-old and his first at this level of the PDC World Tour since the 2022 European Championship. World number 14 Smith hit 11 maximum 180s, compared with Price’s five, as he overcame his higher-ranked opponent.

Price had won back-to-back legs to level the final at 5-5, while Smith continued to score heavily despite a lower checkout success rate. Smith then took the next three legs after the interval, including consecutive checkouts of 127 and 123. Although the finishing cooled later, Smith won a series of scrappy legs as Price’s form fell away.

Smith reached the final by beating Northern Ireland’s Josh Rock 10-7 in the quarter-finals and Dutch player Gian van Veen 11-8 in the semi-finals, earning a chance to claim the £100,000 winner’s prize. Price defeated England’s James Wade before overcoming fellow Welshman Jonny Clayton, who had beaten Luke Littler.

World champion Littler’s attempt to complete a clean sweep of major PDC titles in 2026 ended with a 10-4 quarter-final defeat by Clayton. Littler had won the World Championship, World Masters, UK Open, Premier League, World Cup of Darts and World Matchplay earlier in the year.
