According to Al Jazeera, US President Donald Trump said US officials held a three-hour meeting with an Iranian delegation on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Speaking to reporters at the United Nations, Trump described the meeting as “very good” and “very productive”.

He said the talks lasted about three hours and that another meeting had been scheduled “in the very near future”.

The comments came during the 81st session of the UN General Assembly on September 22, 2026.
