According to Cnbc, U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said the United States and China have reached agreements covering a “subset” of non-sensitive goods that could be traded on more favorable terms.

Greer said the Trump administration plans to release more details Monday on what the two sides have accomplished during negotiations in recent weeks. He did not specify which products are covered, how tariffs could change, or when any new terms would take effect.

The discussions include U.S. agricultural products and medical devices, as well as Chinese consumer goods considered non-sensitive, Greer said on CNBC’s “Squawk Box.” The goal is to identify areas of trade that could remain insulated from future tariff measures or broader disputes.

The two countries want some goods to be traded on a “more preferential basis” and potentially set aside if either side imposes new tariffs. Negotiations under the new U.S.-China “Board of Trade” mechanism are focused on “pure trade issues,” rather than national-security restrictions on advanced technology.

Trump and Xi announced the Board of Trade after meeting in Beijing in May. Businesses have been awaiting details on which trade categories could receive lower tariffs under the framework.
