According to France 24, fighting continues between Ethiopian forces and the Tigray People’s Liberation Front, while concerns over a potential regional spillover are mounting alongside telecoms disruption.

The France 24 report, aired on September 25, 2026, examined the situation in Ethiopia as heavy fighting struck the country. The programme said fears were growing that the conflict could extend beyond its immediate area.

In its wider Africa coverage, the programme also reported that opposition groups and the ruling UDPS party continued to blame one another for violence during the latest mass protest in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

France 24 further reported that Morocco’s Authenticity and Modernity party was seeking to form a coalition focused on leading voter concerns, including the cost-of-living crisis.
