According to BBC News, Northern Ireland drew 0-0 with Hungary in Belfast in the Nations League, extending their unbeaten start in League B2 and recording a second consecutive clean sheet.

Dominik Szoboszlai was unable to break down Michael O’Neill’s side at Windsor Park. Hungary’s first shot on target came in the 90th minute, while Northern Ireland have now kept eight clean sheets in their past 10 home matches. Germany and Switzerland are the only teams to score at Windsor Park during that run.

The hosts were without Daniel Ballard, who suffered a hamstring injury in Tbilisi and will miss the rest of the international window. Ruairi McConville came into a back three alongside Ciaron Brown and Tom Atcheson, with O’Neill praising Brown’s reliability and attributes.

Northern Ireland created limited opportunities despite being the better side in the first half. Opta recorded an expected-goals total of 0.55, their lowest in a Nations League match since September 2022. Patrick Kelly hit the bar, while Jamie Donley had few chances leading the attack.

O’Neill said his side have fewer experienced options in attacking areas and remains without Conor Bradley, who has missed the past six games after sustaining a serious knee injury with Liverpool in January. Northern Ireland have scored 24 goals in Bradley’s past 16 caps, compared with six in nine games without him during that period.
