According to The Guardian, major US food and agriculture corporations are funding a campaign that pays social media influencers to counter elements of Robert F Kennedy Jr’s Make America Healthy Again platform. The effort, called Growing a Healthier America, or Gaha, is run by the industry-funded Center for Food Integrity.

KFF polling from May 2026 found that about four in 10 US adults support the Maha movement. Majorities said regulation is insufficient for agricultural pesticides, at 64%, and chemical food additives, at 75%. The Trump administration has largely stopped short of imposing new regulations.

Internal documents reviewed by the Guardian and Documented show Gaha is focused on seed oils, pesticides, high-fructose corn syrup, regenerative agriculture, organic farming, raw milk and “big ag”. A July 2025 training video said the goal was to create an “echo chamber” among food and agriculture groups behind “the same ultimate message”.

The influencer campaign launched late last year, and at least six influencers have joined, with a combined audience of more than 2.6 million viewers. A 12 August brief said Gaha had generated 13.2m online impressions, more than 1.1m engagements and an 8.74% engagement rate.

CFI executive director Kelly Leighton said in the training video that misinformation from Maha could undermine consumer trust, fuel new regulations and erode confidence in agriculture. CFI said Gaha supports informed dialogue on ensuring a healthy, affordable food supply and strong rural communities.
