According to Cnbc, Nvidia’s market value stood just under $5.7 trillion after the stock rose 1.3% on Friday, putting the semiconductor company within reach of a $6 trillion valuation.

The advance helped the Nasdaq-100 Index close at new records. Nvidia accounts for 13% of the Nasdaq and 8% of the S&P 500 Index. The company’s stock had traded sideways for seven weeks surrounding a meeting between the President and corporate executives leading “Super Intelligence,” before reaching its first record since May.

Market-maker pricing of Nvidia options indicated about a 50% chance that the company would reach $6 trillion between now and the end of the month. The pricing showed a 13% chance of reaching that level during the week and about a 67% chance of doing so by Dec. 18. Based on the current share count, Nvidia would need to reach $248 per share to cross the milestone.

Options pricing also implied roughly a one-in-sixteenth chance that Nvidia could hit a $7 trillion valuation by Nov. 20. Deltas on options expiring during the week and on Oct. 30 were used to gauge those probabilities, measuring how sensitive option prices are to moves in the stock.

Ben Emons, managing director at Highline Asset Management, said Nvidia’s buyback announcement was a bright spot and described it as a capital-allocation event that asserts confidence in long-run AI demand. Barchart data showed that many Nvidia call options were trading with higher implied volatility than equivalent puts, a pattern known as call skew that signals traders’ bias toward hedging for a rally.
