According to Cnbc, President Donald Trump reported 517 securities purchases and sales in August, including a purchase of up to $25 million in Meta stock and as much as $5 million in SpaceX debt. The transactions totaled roughly $74.3 million to $273.3 million, based on the value ranges in the 18-page financial disclosure.
Purchases accounted for at least $44.2 million and sales for at least $30.1 million, CNBC calculated. The filing showed that trading slowed from June and July, when Trump disclosed more than 1,000 transactions in each month, but his portfolio remained highly active.
The largest reported transaction was an Aug. 21 purchase of between $5 million and $25 million in Meta shares. On the same day, Trump reported buying between $1 million and $5 million each of AT&T, ConocoPhillips, Abbott Laboratories, Netflix and Chevron. He also reported sales of between $1 million and $5 million each of Advanced Micro Devices and Church & Dwight, plus stakes worth between $500,001 and $1 million in several companies, including Boeing, Home Depot, T-Mobile, Datadog, Dell Technologies, Palo Alto Networks and Nvidia.
On Aug. 18, Trump’s accounts purchased between $1 million and $5 million in SpaceX senior unsecured notes carrying a 5.35% interest rate and maturing in July 2031. Two days later, Trump signed a national space transportation policy that calls for support for more than 1,000 launches and reentries annually by 2030. The White House said Thursday that Trump does not direct the trades, describing the portfolio as independently managed through discretionary accounts and computer-based models.
