According to ABC News, homicide detectives are investigating after a man was found dead at a house in Orelia, in Perth’s southern suburbs. WA Police said officers were called to a residence on Nye Way at about 2:20pm yesterday following reports of a “serious incident”.

Police found the man dead at the house. In a statement, police said another man, who was known to the deceased, was found inside the property and taken into custody. The investigation is being led by the Homicide Squad and remains ongoing.

The house and street were cordoned off after the death, and Nye Way was still blocked off on Friday morning. Four police vehicles remained at the scene, where detectives, forensic pathologists and forensic officers were deployed.

Forensic officers inspected the front yard and two vehicles parked in the driveway. Others appeared to be examining the backyard of the property. Police earlier said the incident was contained and that there was no threat to public safety.
