According to ABC News, North Melbourne recovered from an early scare to defeat Fremantle 9.4 (58) to 4.6 (30) at Arden Street, while Carlton and Hawthorn also recorded AFLW victories. The 28-point result ensured the Kangaroos finished the round on top of the ladder, while Fremantle slipped out of the top eight.
The Dockers briefly looked capable of a major upset when they kicked three straight goals to take a one-point lead during the second quarter. North Melbourne responded with six goals to one, powered by Ash Riddell and Jasmine Garner. Riddell finished with 38 disposals, four clearances and a goal, while Garner had 33 disposals, four clearances and a goal. Hawthorn defeated Brisbane 9.11 (65) to 6.4 (40) after the Lions took a two-goal lead into quarter-time. The Hawks turned the contest through a five-goals-to-nil second term. Aine McDonagh kicked three goals from 20 disposals, while former Lion Kaitlyn Ashmore marked her 100th AFLW match with a set-shot goal from the boundary-line pocket in the second quarter. The win moved Hawthorn into eighth place and left Brisbane out of the finals equation.
