According to BBC News, BBC football pundit Troy Deeney has named his latest Premier League Team of the Week, selecting players from Crystal Palace, Brighton, Leeds, Coventry, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City. Enzo Maresca was chosen as manager after Manchester City’s result at Anfield.

Crystal Palace goalkeeper Walter Benitez was included after a save from Liam Delap’s effort, while Palace’s Jefferson Lerma earned recognition for scoring, making tackles and playing out from the back while deployed at centre-back. Brighton’s Ferdi Kadioglu was praised for a second-half block, and Leeds defender James Justin was selected after an “unbelievable goal” and his versatility across the right side of defence.

Coventry had two players in Deeney’s side. Ethan Pinnock was highlighted as a physical and calming presence, while Matt Grimes was described as an unsung hero for his distribution and his display against Newcastle. Arsenal’s Riccardo Calafiori completed the defensive selections, with Deeney saying he is probably Arsenal’s best forward at the moment while also being defensively solid.

Jordan Henderson was picked after scoring two goals for Chelsea, alongside Chelsea team-mate Joao Pedro, who Deeney expects to benefit from Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer operating behind him. Manchester City pair Rayan Cherki and Jeremy Doku were also selected. Deeney praised Cherki as a player who makes viewers smile, while Doku was credited with changing the game through a goal and an assist after Ryan Gravenberch was sent off. Deeney said Maresca had galvanised City and made an important tactical change by bringing on Doku.
