According to BBC News, West Ham United are expected to appoint Scott Parker as head coach after sacking Nuno Espirito Santo following a disappointing start to the Championship season.

BBC Sport understands the club are in advanced talks with Parker, who could be confirmed before Wednesday’s trip to Cardiff City. Mark Noble, Steve Potts and Gerard Prenderville will take temporary charge for that match.

Nuno leaves with assistant head coach Rui Pedro Silva and goalkeeper coach Rui Barbosa. West Ham, relegated from the Premier League last season, are eighth in the Championship, six points behind leaders Middlesbrough, after winning two of their past six games.

Parker played four seasons for West Ham and made 129 appearances for the club. As a manager, he has guided Fulham, Bournemouth and Burnley to promotion from the Championship.

West Ham said its board decided a change was necessary after reviewing the start of the EFL Championship campaign. Parker would become the club’s fourth permanent manager since David Moyes left in May 2024.
