Arabic version: صفقة خيارات على AMD تستهدف تقلبات الأرباح

According to Cnbc, Advanced Micro Devices has faced significant pressure ahead of its earnings release after the close, with the stock caught in swings around the artificial-intelligence debate and a broader tech-sector selloff. AMD fell 10.9% on Friday and another 7.5% on Monday after disappointing results from other technology companies.

Alphabet’s record drop last Thursday was followed by weak results from Amazon and Intel, AMD’s long-standing CPU rival. Intel guided fourth-quarter revenue well below consensus and said it expects the PC slowdown to last through at least the first half of next year. Intel shares dropped 29% on Friday, their worst day since the 1970s.

AMD’s own earnings reactions have varied in recent quarters, with investors focused on guidance and elevated expectations. The shares fell 17% after fourth-quarter 2025 results, rose 18.6% following first-quarter 2026 results and declined 7% after second-quarter 2026 results. CNBC described an options strategy designed not to make a directional call, but to seek to benefit from elevated premium going into the report.

The proposed trade sells the November 4 425/415 put spread and the 510/520 call spread for roughly a $3.65 credit, based on Monday’s close. The maximum profit is $365 if AMD closes between $425 and $510 on Wednesday, while the maximum loss is $635 if it closes below $415 or above $520. CNBC noted that AMD has moved as much as 19% in its last four earnings reports, underscoring the risk of large post-results swings.
