Arabic version: إيمي هانت تزور معسكر تدريب منتخب إنجلترا للرجبي
According to BBC News, Great Britain sprint star Amy Hunt visited England’s training base on Wednesday, watching a session and speaking with the squad over lunch before Sunday’s Nations Championship match against Australia.
The 24-year-old won four gold medals at last summer’s European Championships in Birmingham. Hunt, who is based in Italy for training, was gifted an England shirt during her visit.
Back row Ben Earl said the team enjoyed meeting people who had achieved in other sports. Defence coach Richard Wigglesworth said such visitors brought energy and could create good connections with the squad.
Hunt is the latest sporting figure to visit Steve Borthwick’s camp. Emma Raducanu attended before England’s win over New Zealand last autumn, while England football manager Thomas Tuchel and Olympic skeleton champion Matt Weston visited Pennyhill Park during this year’s Six Nations.
Leeds Rhinos assistants Chev Walker and Scott Grix also met Borthwick, his staff, players and coaches from the UK Armed Forces team on Wednesday. England face Australia first in four successive November fixtures, followed by matches against Japan, New Zealand and an as-yet-undecided play-off opponent.
