Arabic version: احتفال مشجعي أرسنال بفوزهم بلقب الدوري الإنجليزي في موكب شمال لندن
According to BBC News,
Hundreds of thousands of Arsenal fans filled the streets of north London to celebrate the club’s first Premier League title in 22 years. The players proudly displayed the trophy as they waved to the enthusiastic crowds from open-top buses during a five-mile loop through Islington, circling the Emirates Stadium. The women’s team, who lifted the first-ever FIFA Women’s Champions Cup earlier in the season, also joined the festivities.
The victory parade took place just a day after the men’s team faced a heartbreaking loss in the Champions League final against Paris St-Germain, losing in a penalty shootout in Budapest. Despite the recent disappointment, fans remained jubilant, reaching out towards the buses and cheering loudly, while flags waved and fireworks lit up the sky.
Fans expressed their excitement and pride during the event. Joe, who attended the parade with his son Trey, shared, “We’ve been knocking on the door for the last four seasons and we’ve finally done it. I’m so excited.” Another long-time supporter remarked, “I had to be here because I waited 22 years for this,” reflecting on the club’s previous success during the legendary Invincibles season.
The Metropolitan Police reported that the parade was one of its largest policing operations of the year, deploying more than 500 officers alongside specialist search and drone teams. While there were some incidents, with 16 arrests reported for various offences, the majority of the event proceeded peacefully. However, a small fire was caused by a stray flare at a hotel, prompting fire service warnings about the use of pyrotechnics during celebrations.
As the parade concluded, fans were reminded to avoid using flares and to keep them away from buildings and other flammable materials. The parade not only highlighted Arsenal’s triumph but also the strong community spirit among its supporters.
