Quentin Griffiths, a co-founder of the online fashion retailer Asos, has died after falling from a high-rise apartment block in Pattaya, Thailand. According to BBC News, police confirmed that Griffiths was found dead on February 9, 2023, outside a luxury hotel where he had been staying as a long-term resident.

Thai police reported that Griffiths, a British national, was alone at the time of the incident. His hotel room was locked from the inside, and there were no signs of a break-in. An autopsy did not indicate any foul play, leading investigators to treat the case with caution.

Griffiths co-founded Asos in 2000 and remained a notable shareholder until he departed the company five years later. The online fashion platform, originally named As Seen On Screen, has grown significantly, offering a wide range of brands and reaching a valuation of over £6 billion at its peak.

A spokesperson from the Foreign Office stated they are providing support to Griffiths’ family and are in contact with local authorities regarding the situation. Reports suggest that he was involved in ongoing legal issues, which may have contributed to his stress. Griffiths was separated from his second wife, a Thai national, with whom he was engaged in a business dispute.
