Dubai Conference- Theme: Sustainable Development in Asia & Asia-Pacific for Peace & Prosperity, Focusing on Climate Change, Culture Connect & Health.

CONFERENCE REPORT: The first-ever Hybrid Conference of AAPU held in Dubai (UAE), outside its headquarters in India, was a landmark event. The conference commenced with a Welcome Address by Dr. Y.P. Chawla, Program Director and Chairman of the Pacific Region, who joined virtually from Sydney. Mr. Satish Shenoy was pivotal in organising the event, ensuring its seamless execution.

Following the keynote address by Mr. J.S. Saluja, President of AAPU, and insightful remarks by Mr. Sandip Marwah, the Indian Cultural Ambassador and Patron of AAPU, participants actively engaged in discussions, sharing their perspectives and appreciating the meaningful discourse facilitated by the conference.

The event brought together a distinguished panel of dignitaries, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and CEOs, who deliberated on some of the most pressing challenges facing Asia and the Asia-Pacific region. The escalating climate crisis and the inadequacy of governmental responses remained at the forefront of discussions, emphasising the urgent need for collaborative action.

The conference was attended by 34 participants, including seven from the USA, Australia, and India who joined via virtual platform. It brought together an esteemed panel of dignitaries, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and CEOs, who discussed the most pressing issues impacting Asia and the Asia-Pacific region. In particular, the rapid acceleration of climate change and the inadequacy of governmental responses emerged as key concerns.

CONCLUSION: Despite the commitments made during the 2015 Paris Conference on Climate Change and the subsequent 29 COP summits, the results remain disappointing. Developed nations have failed to provide the necessary funds and technologies to support developing countries in achieving sustainable development and mitigating climate change within agreed limits.

With limited external support, the only viable path forward for developing nations is clear:
