Balenciaga’s latest collection, presented during Paris Fashion Week, draws inspiration from the HBO series Euphoria, capturing the chaotic spirit of Generation Z. According to The Guardian, the show was marked by a blend of glossy blacks and harsh neons, reflecting the show’s themes of adolescence and emotional turmoil.

Designer Pierpaolo Piccioli transformed a dark venue on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées into a vibrant homage to the series, with pulsating music and visuals that included sneak peeks of Euphoria’s upcoming third season. A striking sweater featured a still of new cast member Danielle Deadwyler, encapsulating the edgy aesthetic that defines the show.

Piccioli collaborated with Euphoria’s showrunner Sam Levinson, aiming to portray the humanity of the characters without judgment. The collection showcased a mix of raw and stylized elements, with bold fashions such as scrunched leather jackets and revealing dresses, embodying the series’ exploration of youth.

In contrast, Celine’s designer Michael Rider took a different approach, moving away from traditional preppy styles. He emphasized a more structured silhouette with sharper jackets and kick flares, aiming for a look that balances style with a hint of rebellion. Rider stated that he wanted to create something less swaddled and more dynamic, reflecting a shift in contemporary fashion sensibilities.
