The Canterbury Bankstown Mayoral Iftar, held at The Highline Venue on 18 March, was a night of reflection, unity, and cultural celebration as the community came together during the sacred month of Ramadan. This annual event, hosted by Mayor Bilal El Hayek, serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of inclusivity and mutual respect within the diverse Canterbury Bankstown region.

The Mayoral Iftar was attended by a wide array of community leaders, local organisations, and residents, all sharing in the spirit of togetherness and generosity. Among the distinguished attendees, the NSW and federal governments were represented by Minsiters Tony Burke, Jihad Dib, and Jason Clare. Oz Arab Media was proudly represented by Dr. Charbel Tadros, Christine Nassif, and Elie Kaltoum. Their presence underscored Oz Arab Media’s ongoing commitment to fostering community engagement and celebrating multiculturalism through media and storytelling.

The evening featured traditional Ramadan dishes provided by Al-Aseel, allowing guests to enjoy a meal that not only nourished the body but also symbolised the values of compassion and gratitude. Beyond the meal, the event provided a platform for attendees to engage in meaningful conversations, strengthen relationships, and reinforce the spirit of unity that defines the Canterbury Bankstown community.
