Arabic version: تشابيل روان تتحدث عن مزاعم جورجينيو بشأن حادثة الأمن
Chappell Roan has responded to accusations from Flamengo footballer Jorginho regarding an incident involving her security guard. The singer took to Instagram to share her side of the story after Jorginho criticized her on social media. According to The Guardian, Jorginho claimed that Roan’s security spoke “in an extremely aggressive manner” to his wife and stepdaughter at a hotel in São Paulo, Brazil.
In his Instagram post, Jorginho described how his 11-year-old stepdaughter was “extremely shaken and cried a lot” following the interaction. He expressed disappointment in Roan for not valuing her fans, stating, “Without your fans, you would be nothing.”
Roan, addressing the situation in a video, clarified that the security guard involved was not her personal security and that she was unaware of the incident as she was sitting at breakfast. She expressed sadness over the situation, stating, “I do not hate people who are fans of my music. I do not hate children – that is crazy. I’m sorry to the mother and child that someone was assuming something, that you would do something, and that … if you felt uncomfortable, that makes me really sad. You did not deserve that.”
The incident has drawn criticism towards Roan, including from Rio de Janeiro’s mayor, Eduardo Cavaliere, who stated on X that she is not welcome to perform at the city’s annual Todo Mundo No Rio music festival. He compared her treatment of fans unfavorably to that of other artists, such as Colombian singer Shakira.
