The Arab Union for Arbitration in Economic and Investment Disputes, affiliated with the Council of Arab Economic Unity, has officially announced the appointment of Dr. Rania Mohammed Marwan Sabano (commonly known as Rania Sabano) to represent the union internationally.
According to the decision issued under Arab Document No. (2025,0002), Dr. Rania Sabano has been designated as the International Liaison Officer for the union. Her responsibilities will include connecting the union’s objectives and aspirations with international coordination mechanisms, as well as representing it in relevant independent Arab and international bodies related to arbitration and investment.
The official administrative decision states:
**Article One:** Dr. Rania Mohammed Marwan Sabano is appointed as the International Liaison Officer for the union (an independent Arab international body).
**Article Two:** She shall enjoy all rights and benefits as stipulated and appropriate for her new position, serving the aspirations of the union and the interests of the Arab investment sector.
**Article Three:** This decision shall be effective for two full years from the date of its ratification.
It is noteworthy that this decision is based on the union’s bylaws and approved regulations, bearing the signature of Dr. Mohammed Samir Zaidieh, the Secretary-General of the Arab Union for Arbitration in Economic and Investment Disputes. This reflects a strong confidence in Dr. Rania Sabano’s competence and her ability to enhance the union’s international presence and support its mission in resolving economic disputes and developing the investment environment in the Arab region.
Dr. Rania Sabano, an international arbitrator and expert in Syrian international law, is recognized as one of the prominent Arab legal figures actively participating in various Arab and international forums and conferences. Her efforts primarily aim to encourage the exchange of Arab investments across the vast Arab homeland, from the Atlantic to the Gulf, while also promoting collaborative Arab work to advance economic integration among Arab countries, companies, and investment associations operating in this field.
In her response, Dr. Rania Sabano expressed her immense happiness and deep gratitude to Dr. Mohammed Samir Zaidieh for the valuable trust placed in her by the Arab Union for Arbitration. She pledged to exert her utmost effort to achieve the union’s major goals in fostering a conducive environment for work and investment, and in collaborative efforts that meet the aspirations and dreams of the Arab citizen across all Arab nations.
