According to BBC News,
A US-based model agent introduced women as young as 18 to Jeffrey Epstein and pleaded with him to have sex with a model he knew, according to emails. Ramsey Elkholy, who corresponded with Epstein for almost a decade, reportedly discussed the bodies and sexual attitudes of various women, suggesting potential investments in fashion and modeling businesses in Brazil to meet more women.
In a particularly alarming email from 2011, Elkholy described a woman in her 20s who was “desperate for cash” and implored Epstein, “Dear Jeffrey PLEASE just try her in bed.” Elkholy expressed regret over his language in some emails and claimed he was unaware of Epstein’s abusive behavior towards women. He now describes himself as an anthropologist and musician, having previously worked as a model agent.
The emails, released by the Department of Justice, reveal how Epstein maintained extensive contacts within the international modeling industry, using these connections to access women and girls. The FBI estimates that Epstein may have abused as many as 1,000 women and girls, many of whom were models.
Elkholy appeared to facilitate meetings between Epstein and various contacts in the fashion world, including Victoria’s Secret and Vera Wang. He also communicated with French model agent Jean-Luc Brunel, who has been accused by Brazilian women of recruiting girls for Epstein’s exploitation. Brunel was found dead in a Paris prison in 2022 while under investigation for the rape of minors and trafficking of minors for sexual exploitation.
Despite Elkholy’s claims of only occasional meetings with Epstein, his emails reveal an unsettling familiarity. He expressed admiration for Epstein, stating, “You’re a solid person Jeffrey and that means the world to me.” Elkholy also discussed various women, including a college student he introduced to Epstein, suggesting that he was aware of Epstein’s preference for younger women.
The correspondence continued until shortly before Epstein’s arrest in 2019, with Elkholy discussing bringing young women to the U.S. for potential modeling opportunities. The troubling nature of these emails underscores the complex and disturbing connections between Epstein and the modeling industry.
