Family members of five-year-old Sharon Granites, who has been missing for more than four days, are urgently appealing for information regarding her whereabouts. Police suspect that Sharon was abducted from the Old Timers town camp in Alice Springs by a 47-year-old man named Jefferson Lewis, who is also being sought by authorities. According to ABC News, the family describes Sharon as a “very energetic” girl who communicates primarily through hand gestures.
Sharon was reported missing in the early hours of Sunday, with police alleging she has been abducted by Jefferson Lewis. Her family has expressed their hope for her safe return. Robin Japanangka Granites, her grandfather, emotionally called for her return, stating that the family has been devastated since her disappearance. He emphasized that they want to search for her rather than grieve her absence.
Rob Roy, Sharon’s great-uncle, has also urged anyone with information about her to come forward. He recalled fond memories of her being lively and engaged during a recent visit. “She’s one of those little girls who roam around, run around, not fussed about anything,” he said, highlighting her spirited nature.
Bess Nungarrayi Price, a community leader and member of Sharon’s extended family, shared that the girl’s mother and grandmothers are heartbroken. She expressed hope that Sharon is still alive and emphasized the family’s desire for Jefferson Lewis to provide any information he may have about her location. Price urged him to surrender to the police or share details that could lead to Sharon’s safe return.
