Arabic version: توقف تصوير سلسلة توم رايدر بسبب إصابة صوفي تورنر
Filming on the upcoming Tomb Raider television series has been paused following an injury sustained by actress Sophie Turner, who portrays the iconic character Lara Croft. According to BBC News, the production team confirmed that the pause is a precautionary measure to allow Turner time to recover from a “minor injury.”
A spokesperson for Prime Video indicated that the nature of the injury and whether it occurred on or off set have not been disclosed. They did, however, express hope to resume filming as soon as possible, although no timeline for the pause has been provided.
Sophie Turner, known for her role as Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones, was announced as the new Lara Croft in September last year. She has been actively engaged in filming action scenes since her casting. The actress has previously mentioned experiencing a “perpetual back problem” that arose during her extensive training for the role.
The Tomb Raider series also features notable actors such as Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, and Celia Imrie. The show is scripted by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, known for her work on Fleabag, and is based on the popular video game franchise that began in 1996. Lara Croft has historically been a groundbreaking character in gaming, becoming an icon for female representation in the industry.
