Authorities in Utah are investigating allegations of a third domestic violence incident involving Taylor Frankie Paul, a star of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, and Dakota Mortensen. According to The Guardian, Mortensen contacted the West Jordan police department last month regarding the allegations stemming from a 2024 incident. He was referred to the department by Draper police due to jurisdictional issues.
The police spokesperson stated that investigators are reviewing multiple videos related to the alleged incident to establish timelines and details. Currently, they have only Mortensen’s account of the event and have yet to speak with Paul directly, although they have communicated with her attorney. Authorities are seeking Paul to provide either a written statement or come in for an interview.
This latest allegation arrives shortly after ABC canceled Paul’s upcoming season of The Bachelorette, just three days before its scheduled premiere. The cancellation followed the release of leaked footage showing Paul throwing metal chairs at Mortensen during a 2023 incident, which reportedly involved her daughter.
Paul has previously faced legal consequences due to her relationship with Mortensen. She pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and is currently serving a three-year probation sentence. Additionally, the Draper police confirmed that there is an ongoing domestic assault investigation related to another alleged incident between the two in February of this year, with claims made in both directions.
Filming for season five of Mormon Wives has been paused due to the ongoing investigations. A spokesperson for Paul expressed gratitude for ABC’s support, emphasizing her focus on her family’s safety. Mortensen, in a statement, described the situation as deeply upsetting and denied the allegations against him, stating he is concentrating on their son’s safety.
