Arabic version: غارة جوية إسرائيلية تودي بحياة ضباط شرطة وطفل في غزة

According to Al Jazeera,

An Israeli airstrike has resulted in the deaths of at least five police officers and a 13-year-old boy in Gaza, according to local police reports. The attack occurred despite a ceasefire that has been in effect since October 10, 2025. The strike also injured at least 10 others, with reports indicating that at least one civilian was killed on a nearby street.

The Gaza police directorate confirmed that two missiles targeted a police post in the at-Twam area in northern Gaza. Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud noted that this incident reflects a broader pattern of Israeli military actions aimed at local security personnel, which has persisted both during and after the ceasefire.

The ongoing violence complicates humanitarian efforts in the region, where aid distribution is already severely restricted. The Gaza Strip is grappling with a humanitarian crisis, and the recent attacks on its police force threaten to exacerbate the situation. Mahmoud emphasized that these actions are contributing to a power vacuum and increasing chaos in the enclave.

In the past 48 hours, the Gaza Health Ministry reported that the bodies of eight Palestinians were received at hospitals, alongside 29 wounded individuals. The humanitarian conditions in Gaza have deteriorated further, with reports from the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) indicating a rise in skin infections among children due to pest infestations.

UNRWA highlighted that health teams can only treat about 40 percent of the cases, as basic medicines remain in short supply. This shortage has left many children without essential treatment, worsening the already dire health situation in Gaza.
