According to ABC News, Fremantle Dockers life member Shaun McManus will be the club’s cup presenter for the 2026 AFL grand final against Brisbane. If Fremantle win their maiden flag, McManus will hand the premiership cup to captain Alex Pearce.

McManus was part of Fremantle’s inaugural 1995 squad and began his AFL career as a 19-year-old. He played 228 games over 14 seasons, captained the team alongside Adrian Fletcher from 2000 to 2001, and played with current coach Justin Longmuir.

Dockers chief Simon Garlick said McManus embodied the club’s values, citing his career, leadership and continuing influence since retirement. McManus retired after the 2008 season, then remained with the club as a player development coach before moving through off-field roles.

Now 50, McManus became a Dockers life member in 2004. He is Fremantle’s ninth-highest game record holder and was the second player after Shane Parker to reach 200 games for the club.

Brisbane had not named its cup presenter. Jonathan Brown, a three-time premiership player, presented the cup for the Lions’ grand final win over Geelong last year. The grand final will be played at the MCG on Saturday.
