Phil Campbell, the lead guitarist of the British heavy metal band Motörhead, has died at the age of 64. According to ABC News, his family announced the news in a heartfelt statement on social media.

The family revealed that Campbell passed away peacefully following a long and courageous battle in intensive care after a complex major operation. They described him as “a devoted husband, a wonderful father, and a proud and loving grandfather,” adding that he was deeply loved and will be missed immensely.

Motörhead paid tribute to Campbell on Instagram, highlighting his contributions as a “wonderful guitarist, writer, performer, and musician who had Motörhead in his veins.” The band emphasized his sense of humor and love for life, stating that he always led with his heart.

Campbell joined Motörhead in 1984, and the band, formed in 1975, enjoyed a successful career that spanned more than 40 years. Known for heavy metal classics like “Ace of Spades,” the group disbanded following the death of frontman Lemmy Kilmister in 2015. Following this, Campbell continued to perform with his own band, featuring his three sons.
