Emerging musicians, bands and producers from Western Sydney will soon have free access to a professional recording facility as part of a pilot Music Studio Residency program at Wentworth Point Community Centre.
The program is designed to help the next generation of Western Sydney artists boost their careers and sharpen their skills from songwriting, recording and mixing to podcast production with Expressions of Interest (EOI) now open for Round 1.
City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Martin Zaiter said this initiative is a first for the City and will help the next generation of local talent grow their careers.
“Wentworth Point Community Centre is a state-of-the-art facility that’s fully equipped to provide emerging artists with a dedicated space, equipment and support to record and create their own music,” Cr Zaiter said.
“This is about investing in Western Sydney talent and strengthening Parramatta’s reputation as a thriving creative and cultural hub.
“We want to help emerging artists take centre stage and reach their potential, so I encourage all musicians who are interested to apply.”
The Music Studio Residency program is part of Council’s 12-month trial making community facilities more affordable and accessible for residents, businesses and community groups.
The program is open to artists and musicians aged 18 and over, who are based in Western Sydney or can demonstrate a strong connection to the region, and must be Australian citizens or permanent residents.
Successful applicants will receive exclusive access to the music recording studio for one or two-month residencies later this year. Applications for Round 2 will open in late 2026.
EOI submissions for Round 1 close at 12pm on Monday 10 August 2026.
