A woman has been found guilty of manslaughter and attempted kidnapping in connection with a fatal acid attack on her ex-husband. Paris Wilson, 35, from Plymouth, was involved in orchestrating the attack that led to the death of Danny Cahalane, 38, who succumbed to injuries weeks after the incident in February 2025. While Wilson was acquitted of murder, the jury at Winchester Crown Court convicted her alongside Ramarnee Bakas, 23, of Islington, London, for manslaughter.

According to BBC News, the court heard that Wilson played a pivotal role in the scheme that resulted in Cahalane’s death. Prosecutors stated that she provided information about Cahalane’s whereabouts to a drug boss in Dubai, known as Ryan Kennedy, and facilitated the attack. During the trial, evidence revealed Wilson expressed resentment towards Cahalane’s new life and had even made threatening remarks regarding an acid attack prior to the event.

On the night of the attack, two men broke into Cahalane’s home, armed with sulphuric acid. Despite his attempts to defend himself, Cahalane was severely injured when one of the attackers threw acid on him. He later reported to police that he believed Wilson had set him up. Cahalane died on May 3, 2025, after being hospitalized due to his injuries.

The jury also found other defendants guilty of related charges, including murder. Sentencing for those convicted is provisionally set for June 8. Cahalane’s family expressed a sense of justice following the verdicts but lamented the irreversible loss of their loved one, highlighting the lasting impact of his death on their lives.
