Arabic version: ت intensifies البحث عن رجل مفقود من بيرث في كانكون
Concerns are mounting for Jesse Bruzzese, a 35-year-old man from Western Australia, who has been missing in Cancun, Mexico, for nearly a month. According to ABC News, his family has not heard from him since June 3, prompting them to reach out for public assistance in locating him.
Bruzzese’s family reported him missing to Western Australia Police after he failed to make contact during his travels. They have shared his last known location, which is in Riviera Maya, Cancun, and are actively seeking any information that could confirm his safety. Flyers featuring his image have been distributed to raise awareness about his disappearance.
Interpol has issued a yellow alert notice for Bruzzese, a global police alert aimed at finding missing persons. The notice indicates that he is an Australian and Italian national who may have traveled to various countries, including Cambodia, the United States, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, and Indonesia, before his disappearance.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is providing consular assistance to Bruzzese’s family. WA Police are also involved in the investigation and are supporting DFAT in their inquiries. Bruzzese is described as having distinctive tattoos, including images of a woman’s face, an eagle, and other designs, which may help identify him.
This incident follows a troubling history of disappearances involving Australians in Mexico, including the tragic cases of Perth brothers Jake and Callum Robinson, who were murdered in 2024, and other Australians who have gone missing in the country over the years. The family remains hopeful for any leads that could help locate Bruzzese safely.
