On Tuesday morning, March 24, the Diocese of Melbourne and its dependencies in Australia, under the auspices of His Grace Bishop Roiss, the General Bishop of East Asia and the overseer of the Diocese, issued a statement congratulating the two newly ordained nuns, Angela and Gabriella, upon their elevation to the Monastery of Archangel Michael in Melbourne, Victoria. The ordination took place at the Monastery of St. George for Nuns in Al-Khattatba, which is affiliated with the Monastery of St. George in Old Cairo. This event, which included the ordination of nine nuns, occurred on Saturday, March 21, and was conducted by His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, with the participation and presence of ten archbishops and bishops, including Bishop Roiss, as well as the superiors of Coptic nunneries.

The Diocese expressed gratitude to His Holiness Pope Tawadros II for his continued care, love, and support for the Diocese, as well as for his paternal concern for the growth and prosperity of monastic life within the Diocese. The statement concluded with a prayer, asking God to strengthen and support the nuns in their monastic journey, granting them spiritual peace, wisdom, patience, and a closer connection to Him. With the addition of nuns Angela and Gabriella to nuns Antonia and Michaela, the total number of nuns at the monastery now stands at four, alongside the postulants seeking to embrace monastic life. The Diocese hopes that the church community will continue to support this blessed monastery through their prayers and donations, enabling it to grow and flourish for the glory of God.
