Arabic version: تينا أرينا ونجاير تتعاونان لتعزيز الوعي بالتبرع بالدم
Tina Arena and Ngaiire have reimagined Sia’s hit song “Unstoppable” to raise awareness about the importance of blood donations. The new version, titled “Unlikely Version,” serves as a heartfelt tribute to the life-saving impact of blood donors, as both artists share their personal experiences with serious illnesses.
According to ABC News, Arena has opened up about a medical crisis that forced her to cancel a dozen shows. The singer faced a life-threatening situation due to kidney stones and septicaemia, which led to her hospitalization in an intensive care unit. She credits the blood transfusion she received as a critical factor in her recovery.
Ngaiire, who battled ganglioneuroblastoma as a child, also emphasizes the significance of blood donations in her life. Having undergone extensive treatments that included blood transfusions, she reflects on how the generosity of donors has enabled her to lead a fulfilling life today.
Both artists highlight the urgent need for blood donations in Australia, with the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood requiring 1.7 million donations annually to meet the demand. Ngaiire notes that only one in 30 Australians currently donates blood, despite the fact that one in three will need a transfusion at some point in their lives.
As Arena prepares for her upcoming tours in France and Australia, she continues to advocate for the importance of consistent blood donations. “We all run the same colour when it comes to blood,” she states, underscoring the universal need for this vital resource. The collaboration between Arena and Ngaiire serves not only to entertain but also to inspire action within the community regarding blood donation.
