Motorists in Canterbury can begin claiming their toll cap cash back from last week, with an average $134 available to eligible toll account holders who have spent more than $60 in tolls in any week since January 1.

From last Tuesday, eligible motorists can visit the toll relief section of the Service NSW website and link their toll account with their Service NSW account to make a claim.

Overall, there are 350,000 toll account holders entitled to a rebate after the first three months of the $60 toll cap being in place.

Drivers who spend on average $200 per week on tolls will receive approximately $7280 in rebates each year.

There are 2,091 toll account holders in Lakemba eligible to receive toll relief from the first three months of the scheme. They can claim an average $309.

Motorists in suburbs across the Canterbury community can also claim, including:

  • Belmore – 683 eligible toll account holders, can claim an average $168.
  • Beverly Hills – 941 eligible toll account holders, can claim an average $149.
  • Campsie – 1,294 eligible toll account holders, can claim an average $174.

Minister for Roads John Graham said:

“The toll cap is designed and operating as a cost-of-living relief measure that provides support for those people who do not have the choice to avoid toll bills in getting around Sydney.”

“An average $134 cash rebate will be welcome to families doing it tough and I encourage people to make their claims if they are a regular toll road user.”

“The cap is part of a multilayered approach by the NSW Government, providing immediate relief as we look at ways to make the toll network more equitable for all with the assistance of the independent Toll Review being led by Professor Allan Fels.”

Member for Canterbury Sophie Cotsis said:

“For families doing it tough, every extra dollar counts.”

“Across Canterbury, eligible accounts will receive an average rebate of more than $100 for the first quarter of 2024, which is much needed toll relief that is going to make a difference.”

“I encourage anyone who needs assistance making claims or linking their toll account to contact Service NSW on 13 77 88 for help or visit their nearest Service NSW Centre for digital kiosk support.”
