Tyson Fury’s recent comeback victory has stirred excitement in the heavyweight boxing scene. After a 15-month hiatus, the 37-year-old Fury secured a comfortable decision win against Arslanbek Makhmudov, immediately turning his attention to British rival Anthony Joshua, who was present at ringside. Fury’s decisive performance has reignited interest in a long-anticipated clash between the two fighters.

According to BBC News, Fury, who has faced only two losses in his professional career—both against Oleksandr Usyk—has made it clear that he is only interested in fighting Joshua next. Following the announcement of the scorecards at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Fury challenged Joshua directly, asking for a definitive answer regarding a potential bout.

Joshua, however, did not commit to the fight, labeling Fury a “clout chaser” and emphasizing that he has been pursuing a match with Fury for the past decade. This exchange has left fans speculating whether Joshua will accept the challenge or opt for a less demanding fight, having last competed in December against Jake Paul.

In the broader heavyweight division, Oleksandr Usyk is set to defend his WBC title against Rico Verhoeven on May 23. Meanwhile, Fabio Wardley will put his WBO heavyweight title on the line against Daniel Dubois on May 9. Wardley expressed interest in a future fight with Fury, but his immediate focus is on Dubois.

Emerging prospect Moses Itauma, who recently stopped Jermaine Franklin, is also a name to watch as he seeks a significant fight in the division. With many exciting matchups on the horizon, the heavyweight boxing scene is poised for a thrilling year ahead.
