UNESCO has condemned a missile strike on a girls’ primary school in Minab, Iran, that resulted in the deaths of at least 170 people. Hassan Fartousi, Secretary General of Iran’s National Commission for UNESCO, expressed outrage, noting that the school was attacked twice.

According to Al Jazeera, the Iranian government has attributed the strike to the United States and Israel. In response, Washington stated it is investigating the reports but denied any intention to target civilians.
