Arabic version: استوديوهات يونيفرسال تطور فيلم سيرة ذاتية عن بون جوفي يركز على سنواته المبكرة
A Bon Jovi biopic is in the works from Universal Pictures, Deadline has confirmed. The film will cover the early years of the rock band, tracing their rise from modest beginnings in New Jersey to selling out stadiums as one of the 1980s’ most defining rock bands.
According to The Guardian, the biopic will be produced by Kevin J Walsh, known for his work on “Manchester By The Sea” and “House of Gucci,” alongside Gotham Chopra, who directed the 2024 documentary “Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story.” The script will be penned by Los Angeles writer Cody Brotter.
Bon Jovi have sold over 130 million albums, and the band was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2018 to celebrate their huge impact on rock music in their multi–decade career. The film will chronicle the band’s formation and highlight their explosive rise to fame, including a notable performance at the 1989 Moscow Music Peace Festival, where they drew a crowd of 100,000.
Jon Bon Jovi’s personal journey, including his early experiences in music and challenges faced by the band, will also be explored in the film. In a 2025 interview, Jon Bon Jovi expressed interest in having his son, Jake Bongiovi, portray him in the biopic, following his experience watching the documentary “Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere.”
Casting details have yet to be announced.
