Lebanese superstar Wael Kfoury’s highly anticipated Sydney concerts, scheduled for 9 and 10 October 2026, have officially been postponed, with organisers confirming that ticket holders will receive refunds.
Australian promoter Double Eight Production has updated its official event page to announce the postponement of the two shows, which were due to take place at the Sydney Event Centre at The Star.
According to the promoter, refunds are being processed automatically to the original payment method, with customers advised that funds may take approximately 14 to 21 days to appear, depending on their financial institution.
However, the official announcement does not provide a reason for the postponement.
Unverified Reports of a Possible Visa Issue
Oz Arab Media has been informed by various unofficial sources that a reason for the postponement may be related to Kfoury’s Australian visa, with claims circulating that his visa application may have been refused.
Oz Arab Media has not been able to independently verify these claims, and neither Double Eight Production nor Kfoury or his management has publicly confirmed that a visa refusal was responsible for the postponement.
Australian visa applications and individual immigration decisions are generally private matters, meaning there is no publicly accessible database through which the reported refusal can simply be verified.
Official Announcement Confirms Refunds
What is confirmed is that Double Eight Production has officially postponed the concerts and is refunding ticket holders.
The promoter’s announcement states that refunds will be returned automatically through the original payment method.
The decision comes as a disappointment to Australian fans of the Lebanese singer, particularly following significant anticipation surrounding his return to Sydney.
Kfoury has previously enjoyed a strong following in Australia, including successful Sydney appearances, and the October dates had been promoted as another opportunity for Australian audiences to see one of Lebanon’s best-known contemporary singers live.
For now, fans will have to wait for further clarification from Double Eight Production, Kfoury or his management about what led to the postponement.
Oz Arab Media will update this story should an official explanation regarding the postponement become available.
Other Major Arab Concerts Still Going Ahead
Meanwhile, Australian fans of Arab music still have several major concerts to look forward to, with no indication that the upcoming shows by Walid Toufic, Elissa and Mohamed Ramadan have been affected. Their Australian concerts are still scheduled to go ahead as planned, giving audiences plenty more major live performances to look forward to in the coming weeks.
